Finally Friday

I’m tired. It’s been a long week. I do have to work today, but first I thought I’d upload some of the pics of finished objects.

I finished both Waves of Grain and Swallowtail, and got them blocked, in time for W.O.O.L.   Both were knit with handspun from fiber dyed by Seekay.

Here are photos. (I hadn’t realized that someone had changed the setting on my camera from “daylight”  to “incandescent” so some are a bit blue).

I so loved working with beads that I substituted beads for nupps on Swallowtail, and I adore the way it came out.  If I were to knit it again, and I might, I would extend both the rosebud section and the lily of the valley section to increase the overall size of the shawl.  Otherwise, the pattern was perfect.

I really have to take some better shots of the Swallowtail.  These don’t quite do it justice.  I’m so thrilled with the way it came out, and how much fun it was to knit, that I can actually see myself doing another one.   By far it’s the nicest thing I’ve ever knit.

  • They both came out beautifully, and you have every right to be proud of yourself. Great job! The intense satisfaction of knitting with homespun is something that can’t be explained really, you have to do it to know it.

So beautiful! My first handspun project was a swallowtail. 🙂 I still adore how it came out. I love your waves of grain, I SO need to knit that pattern.

Oh, these are both just gorgeous! I am in the midst of knitting the Gail (Nightsongs) shawl and it is a challenge, as it is my first lace project!

These are really pretty and inspiring, though!
